“Women of God can never be like women of the world. The world has enough women who are tough; we need women who are tender. There are enough women who are coarse; we need women who are kind. There are enough women who are rude; we need women who are refined. We have enough women of fame and fortune; we need more women of faith. We have enough greed; we need more goodness. We have enough vanity; we need more virtue. We have enough popularity; we need more purity” Margaret D. Nadauld
A Time of Reflection
There are times where people make it difficult for us to love them, then there are times where loving people seems relatively easy. However, it doesn’t matter whether it is an enemy or a friend our responsibility as Christians is to love others as Christ has loved us. Do something out of the ordinary today take a difficult co-worker to lunch, invite that mean cantankerous boss to dinner at your house, or just simply say a few words of kindness to someone who hasn’t been quite nice to you besides, if we love our enemies just as much as we love our friends it will give God the opportunity to bless us and allow others to see the Christ in us as well.
I know that some people are very difficult to love so Lord, I ask that you give me a heart like Christ so that I can love people in spite of their short comings and speak only kind words when their actions are mean, malicious, and unfavorable to heaven. Let my heart continue to flow with an everlasting love so that my actions will soothe and revive the soul of the wicked. In Jesus name. Amen
A Time of Reflection
When we are preparing for an important meeting or a job interview we like to look and feel our best. We spend countless hours in the mirror practicing our speech and poising ourselves so that we look important, fashionable, and pleasant to the eyes in the company of whom we will keep. However, when it’s time to get into the presence of God we come raggedy and lifeless expecting God to take whatever it is that we have to offer. When we come before God we should come with a praise on our lips and expectancy in our hearts excited about the next move God is going to make concerning our lives. Don’t get me wrong there are days when we go before God down trotted and with a heavy heart, but somewhere in the midst of our prayer we should begin to break free of what has us bound and allow praise to encompass our souls. God inhabits the praises of His people, so if you want God to continue to occupy the space that you’re in and delight in your presence then give God all that you’ve got and less of what you don’t.
Father God, in times of trouble I ask that you allow my praise to overtake my sadness and worship to ease my soul. Forgive me for coming into your presence lacking expectation and less than a mustard seed of faith. I believe the plans you have for my life and it is to see me prosper and not fail. So because my love for you is greater than life, I will praise you forever more. Amen
1 Peter 5:7
Let Him have all your worries and cares, for He is always thinking about you and watching everything that concerns you
A Time of Reflection
In this world of chaos, famine, turmoil, and confusion, we let worry, doubt, and fear get the best of us. Oftentimes it seems as though God has forgotten about us and have left us to travel this world of darkness alone, but if we begin to reflect back on the great and wonderful things that God has done it will cause our souls to rejoice and our hearts to long for a Savior who took on the sins of the world just so we could live in peace and overcome every obstacle that life has given us. We must learn to give God all our worries so that when life’s problems begin to swallow us up we can rest in the fact that God is thinking, watching, and caring for us.
Lord, we thank you for watching over us and creating for us a world of comfort and peace when the issues of life causes us to spiral out of control. We give all of our worries to you trusting in the fact that you will make everything alright. In Jesus name. Amen
