There is nothing like good fruit. Good fruit harmonizes with the senses and produces a euphoria that sends one searching for that same satisfying taste. In order to produce good fruit one must first plant their seed in fertile ground. Second the fruit must be watered and protected from the cold so that the harvest won’t be destroyed. Third, we must remove the clutter and debris that may cause harm to the fruit. In essence, we also must take care of the spiritual fruit in our lives. Spiritual fruit has to be planted in the spirit of the believer and cultivated so that it can grow and produce a harvest that will bless the lives of others. A bearer of good fruit will show kindness when kindness is not shown. A bearer of good fruit has peace in the midst of turmoil and patience when anxiety is all around. A bearer of good fruit will remain humble when there is a chance to boast. A bearer of good fruit will love because God said so. Take some time today to examine your fruit. If your fruit is good then share it with the world. If your fruit is bad then it is time reconnect with the vinedresser (God) and allow him to prune away the dead areas in your life so that your spirit man can be revived and you can bear good fruit.
Either make the tree good, and his fruit good; or else make the tree corrupt, and his fruit corrupt: for the tree is known by his fruit. Matthew 12:33
There is a thin line between deciding “should I trust God” Or “should I just go do it myself.” When God takes his time with our repetitious prayers, we become anxious and rebellious by telling God that his services are no longer needed. Faith is what moves God. Faith is what makes God discover if you can be trusted during the waiting process. Whether your faith is as large as the ocean or small as a mustard seed, it is in your faith that God decides what is best for you. Those days when anxiety takes over just begin to encourage yourself by telling your soul that God has a bigger plan for you. Tell your soul that you have declined your premature blessing and have decided to wait on God. When you are in need of an answer and it seems as though God is taking his time, just remember that the level of your faith determines the size of your blessing.
And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him. Hebrews 11:6
Elizabeth, was a woman who was righteous in the eyesight of God. Although God was well pleased with Elizabeth she was experiencing an emptiness and a longing that only God could fulfill. What Elizabeth experienced was something that was shunned upon in the biblical times and that was being a barren woman. Zechariah, her husband who was also righteous in the eyesight of God had been praying for his wife Elizabeth to have a son. Even though his prayers were not answered immediately God heard the cries of his faithful servant and granted Zechariah what he longed for.
What is so amazing about this story is that when God blessed Elizabeth with a son, he wasn’t just an ordinary son, he was John the Baptist who would prepare the way for Jesus Christ. John was anointed to spread the good news of the Messiah and Baptize the Messiah to spiritually prepare him for the work that was ahead of him. God allowed for Elizabeth to be barren for years even into her old age because he had a plan for her life.
Never think that you are too old and that your life is over. Just when you think it’s over God will step in and show himself faithful every time. Just like Elizabeth, God has a plan for you. You may not see it or think that it will ever happen but God has that perfect moment when the manifestation of his glory will show up and change the mind of the doubter and speak salvation to the unbeliever. Your blessing (s) may be on hold but your prayers and thanksgiving should remain faithful even when it seems as though God isn’t.
When I was younger, I can remember crying at night, asking God to send me someone who would love me unconditionally not realizing that it was the Love of God that was sustaining me at the loneliest of times. Instead of focusing on the human touch I should have been focusing on my relationship with God and his plan for my life. When Adam was in the Garden of Eden not once did he complain to God about his longing for companionship, Adam served God and waited for God to provide everything that he needed. The next time you are feeling lonely and feel as if no one cares just remember God and his undying love for you. God put Adam to sleep so that he could finish the work that needed to be done in him so that he would have the ability to love, respect and cherish Eve. God made sure that Adam was strong enough to handle her insecurities, sensitive enough to hold her when she fell and had the courage to stand beside her in her moment of weakness. Only God can awaken the love of a man when the timing is right. Only God can create a man to love you the way you want to be loved. Wherever he is God is strategically designing him for you. Wherever he is God is preparing his heart to connect with your soul. Stop wasting precious time wondering where “he” is and focus on the relationship between you and your creator. If you spend your time connecting with God then God will spend his time creating wonderful blessings for you. In order for Adam to become a whole (complete) man, God had to remove woman from his side so he could adjust his heart and his emotions to properly fit her soul. Adam is still asleep. If you wake him too soon you will disturb the progress of his transformation and delay the love that has longed for you.
And the Lord caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh thereof. Genesis 2:21
Freedom is the power or right to act, without hindrance or restraint. Without the exercise of freedom this world would be chaotic and full of undisciplined leaders who would have no restrictions on their actions or prejudices. Although freedom is what makes society a better place to be, we as Christians lack the same freedom within our souls. Instead of waking up in the morning feeling liberated (free) and empowered, we wake up feeling depressed, bound and defeated. What happened is we have taken the blows of life and downloaded the pain and defeat into our spirits which in return have tortured and disrupted our once peaceful souls. Ladies, we must go back to the place where we first experienced God and begin to allow the joy and undisturbed composure to permeate our souls and release an oasis of God’s love that will protect us through the troublesome times in our life. Freedom is a choice. You either choose to be free or you choose to stay bound. What is your choice today?
Let me again experience the joy of your deliverance! Sustain me by giving me the desire to obey! Psalm 51:12 (Net Bible)
Walking with God when everything is going good seems so easy to do. But what about those times when life refuses to give you a break and it seems as though your walk with God is a walk of disturbed peace and frustration? As Christians, we have to learn to walk with God when times are good and when times are bad. The joy that Nehemiah speaks about in Nehemiah 8:10 (The joy of the Lord is my strength) comes only from the Lord. If you would only delight yourself in God and let the gift of peace invade your soul then the comforter can begin to do his work, and the peace of God that passes all understanding will instruct your heart and mind on how to react when situations seem out of your control. Don’t allow the enemy to deter your path when you are taking steps that are ordained by God. A walk with the King is better than a walk to destruction. Stop getting off the righteous path and keep the faith. When things go wrong and life seems out of control, don’t give up. Walk anyhow.
so that you will walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, to please Him in all respects, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; Colossians 1:10 (NASB)
A young lady was driving with her father. They came upon a storm, and the young lady asked her father, “What should I do?”
He said. “Keep on driving.”
On up a few feet, she noticed that eighteen wheelers were also pulling over. She told her dad. “I must pull over, I can barely see ahead. It is terrible, and everyone is pulling over!”
Her father told her, “Don’t give up, just keep driving!”
As the storm intensified, she never stopped driving, and soon she could see a little more clearly. After a couple of miles she was again on dry land, and the sun came out. Her father said, “Now you can pull over and get out.”
She asked, “But why now?”
He said, “Because now that you are through the storm, you can get out and see the view-you can look back and see all the people who gave up and are still stuck in the storm.”
